Overview

USA Dance people enjoy dancing and wish others may enjoy this activity as well.  USA Dance puts on dances several times a year to foster ballroom dancing.  To promote dancing even more for newcomers, each dance has a lesson for beginners before the general dancing starts.

Introduction To Newcomers

If you have never done ballroom dancing and are curious about it, the time has come for you to give it a try.
When you do attend a dance put on by USA Dance, you will see Neophytesdancers of all calibers in the room. Other people who are curious about dancing will be trying ballroom dancing as well. Some dancers will be as elegant as those seen on popular TV dance shows while some others will be dancing in blue jeans.
A common reaction of neophytes when they first attend a ballroom dance is of feeling inadequate. “I don't really want to be seen near such good dancers; I will look so bad.” Those 'good dancers', by the way, started their dancing careers looking like disjointed robots. Every one starts the same way. After initial classes,Rene and Friend some dancers acquire expertise quickly, while most other people trudge forward gradually. All beginning classes look alike. The people are very mechanical because the moves have not yet Donna and Kevinbeen absorbed by their muscle memories.
Ergo, if you think you would be embarrassed dancing next to experienced people, keep in mind that those experienced people were once robotic
in their dancing experiences. They have fulfilled their quota of mistakes. In fact, chances are that they will encourage you.
So, what are you waiting for?

...but I am not a member of USA Dance...

Everyone is welcome at USA Dances.  You do not need to be a member to enjoy the dancing.  If you are interested in becoming a member,  check the Contact Us page for information about becoming a member.

...but I do not have a partner...

Many men and women attend USA dances without partners.  Many of the men dance with many followers, so that women have ample opportunity of dancing.
Also, several men are designated at each dance to be hosts.  These dancers will have badges indentifying them as such.  Their role is to help beginners learn the basics of dancing quickly and to feel at ease on the dance floor.
